KANGAROO
All Schleich figures are lovingly hand-painted with detailed modelling and allow children to learn as they play. The word "kangaroo" comes from the language of the aborigines, Australia's indigenous people. It basically means "I don't understand", which was the answer given to British Navigator James cook when he asked what the animal was. What a misunderstanding! these marsupials have a kind of rubber band in their hind legs. It propels them upwards with each jump. The faster a kangaroo bounces, the farther the animal is "catapulted" forwards, and the less energy it consumes.

BRACHIOSAURUS
Like a giraffe, this dinosaur grazed on treetops. With chisel-like teeth and a very sharp sense of smell, this plant-eater always found enough to eat. Unlike most another dinosaurs, the Brachiosaurus' front legs were longer than its hind legs which made it easier for this herbivore to reach its food. The brachiosaurus was one of the largest dinosaurs to ever live; it could reach 17 metres in height and weigh nearly ninety tonnes.

TEXAS LONGHORN, BULL
The Schleich figures are modelled with attention to detail, hand-painted with care, and provide educationally valuable playtime. Texas longhorns have the longest horns of any cattle. The first signs of the horns can be seen at the age of just three weeks. The horns grow sideways out of the head and twist slightly at the tips. By around the time a bull turns one, its horns will already have grown to around half their adult length.

VELOCIRAPTOR
Velociraptors were very intelligent predators that hunted in packs. Although they only stood 24 inches tall, these carnivores were able to overpower prey animals considerably larger than themselves. These dinosaurs could run up to 40 miles per hour and due to their stiff tail they were able to accomplish fast turns. To eat their prey, Velociraptors had eighty sharp and curved-back teeth in their snout, some of them up to an inch long. The Velociraptor is considered one of the most intelligent and fastest dinosaurs to live.

CARNOTAURUS
Centaurus is a carnivorous predatory dinosaur from the upper Cretaceous. It lived approximately 70 million years ago. The only specimen ever found was excavated in Argentina. The Centaurus had a length of 9 meters and an estimated weight of 1.5 to 2 tons. His jaw was more rounded than that of his relatives, and his teeth looked like bended knife blades. Surely it was one of the most dangerous predators of its time.

SLOTH
The Sloth spends almost its
entire life in the trees of
tropical rainforest. Its curved
claws give it a firm grip on the
branches of the trees. Since it
always hangs from the branches
upside down, The Sloth fur grows
from its belly towards its back,
instead of growing from its back
or head. This allows rainwater
to drain away better.

habitat is the Arctic. In

and hollow on the inside. The
air inside these hairs is warmed
by the sun, so that Polar bears
